What does the fellas apron mean? I identified this as a caricature on many of the stereotypes of what I see in the non-denoms. What do you think about this in relation to the UMC in the CTC? In what ways are we like this? How are we different? Could we make a video 'parable' about the CTCUMC? Any thoughts on this idea for something like annual conference?
i think it goes to this "inside" language/lingo that the church uses in the presence of "outsiders" or the nagging habit of insiders to abbreviate and acronym everything into a set of letters (WWJD, FROG, etc) that outsiders must ask about to decipher, giving insiders the opportunity to "share Christ" with them.
interesting proposal, would include examples from recent personal experience trying to help students and new members understand terms like district superintendent, bishop, episcopacy, and connection.
